  2. IDEAS FOR AMIGA INTERNATIONAL

  4. Now that Amiga International have started to come up with some ideas
  5. for the Amiga range's future, I have a few ideas of my own.
  6.  
  7. First of all, I think it's finally time we saw the Amiga's custom chips
  8. released on a board for PCs, along with the Amiga operating system on CD-ROM,
  9. this would give Amiga owners who have bought PCs an easy way to get back
  10. into the Amiga.  It will also give the PC a decent operating system (there's
  11. a first!) that is economic on both size and RAM usage, and people in PC
  12. world will finally be able to actually experience an Amiga, rather than just
  13. saying, "ho, amiga, I remember those, a friend of mine had a 0.5Mb A500 about
  14. 10 years ago", when the Amiga gets recognised as a PC card and as a serious
  15. machine, it will do the image good, and people will wonder where they
  16. had been all those years.

  18. Integrate NewIcons onto Workbench, it's a great system, and it looks very
  19. professional, and should be included as standard.

  21. An equivelant of MUI should also be included in ROM!  Yep, ROM, make it
  22. easier for programmers to use, and for applications to look more professional
  23. (yes they do, just look at Voyager NG!).

  25. Have a decent Printer Install system in operation, we had a crappy IconX
  26. based system with WB1.3, but that's crap.  Update "Installer" as well while
  27. you're at it!

  29. Multiview should be kept, as should the Datatype system, it is brilliant,
  30. make sure all applications and utilities included with the system, use
  31. datatypes, and urge all devlopers to make use of them in their programs.
  32. Include datatypes for GIF-Anims and HTML, but still keep Amigaguide, there's
  33. too much of it around to ditch the system.

  35. Include an Internet browser, such as Voyager or AWeb (or both!) with the
  36. Operating system, and advertise this!  You'll sell bucket loads of the 
  37. machines to people who want to get on the net.
